It’s a drizzly Christmas eve, looks almost like snow in a distance. We are seated in a quiet corner at Selegie Road, and he is resting his tummy…hopefully not from our special Christmas dinner…
He once said that his dream was for me to prepare a meal for him, and I decided to make it come true- sort of, very loosely speaking.
We needed a microwave (I cannot live without one), so I bought him one for Christmas and cooked dinner with it!
Appetizer:
Freshly heated mini baguette
Campbell mushroom and garlic soup with a touch of fresh button mushrooms and honey ham shavings
Main Course:
Micro-grilled chicken- a delectable combination of tomato and spicy Mexican marinate
Micro-mashed potatoes
Micro-heated mushroom sauce
Micro-grilled chicken franks
Dessert:
Marks and Spencer’s dark chocolate special- stolen from the fridge
I know, my dinner did not look appetizing at all, but I think it tasted acceptable, if you discount the mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce. He rated it 8/10 (most points awarded for valiant effort)!
Well, it’s a start! I hope he enjoyed his dinner, it does feel kind of nice preparing a meal for someone I love.
Merry Christmas friends!
P.S: his real present was a pair of earphones from Bang & Olfusen. He should be happy with dinner, which was a bonus!
